Community Employment

One employment option is to be employed in your own job in the community. Our employment staff can assist you to find a job that matches your interests, desires, abilities, and strengths. The staff will also help train when a new job is started and provide on-going support, if needed.

We can help the people we serve to learn to use public transportation or we may be able to provide transportation to and from work as well as around the community. We will assist the employers in completing forms for tax credits or other tax incentives, in troubleshooting problems, in job modification and accommodations. We will also try to help people set up their own business and provide on-going support.

Our supports and services are individualized to meet each person’s specific needs. A team of people working on behalf of and with the person we serve, will help to plan for the future. The person and his/her guardian can decide who they want to help them.  As needs change, we try to adapt the supports or help people find new supports.
